Contributing to the creation of a sustainable future and an energy-smart world, I created images of endangered and protected Lithuanian animals and plants for the walls of the Vilnius IGNITIS office using my unique carbon monotype technique. These wall illustrations not only enliven the environment, but also remind us of the harmful effects of climate change.
Hundreds of prints of various textures and details took on a new form in these works and unfolded in the silhouettes of various animals. The image, composed of separate, small elements, perfectly illustrates that every detail is important when creating a picture. Just as each day-to-day choice is significant in achieving common goals.

Appias & Lang are a duo of artists creating temporary site-specific art. Their works are abstract visual stories, and their main tools are carbon paper, light, cameras, and field recordings. The work takes place in several stages, including the creation of a graphic prototype (carbon monotype), light installations using 3D mapping (projection mapping), and subsequent documentation with cameras.
For the installation stage, artists choose remote areas, abandoned buildings and other places and objects lost in time. Using the light and art of new media, artists repeat the magic ritual of prehistoric artists, placing their images in places hidden from the viewer, thereby reviving the walls of rooms that have lost their life. However, the artists do not leave any traces after themselves; they take away evidence of their presence in these places in the form of installation documentation. They work with what is available to them, without changing anything, and keep the room in its original form.
When creating an installation, artists record the process with photo and video cameras. This documentation becomes the final work presented later to the viewer. They do not take the viewer to fragile, hard-to-reach points, but rather transfer these unique, lively places to galleries and other spaces intended for the public.
